electromagnetic radiation and health : ウィキペディア英語版
electromagnetic radiation and health

Electromagnetic radiation can be classified into two types: ionizing radiation and non-ionizing radiation, based on its capability of ionizing atoms and breaking chemical bonds. Ultraviolet and higher frequencies, such as X-rays or gamma rays are ionizing, and these pose their own special hazards: see ''radiation'' and ''radiation poisoning''. The electricity that comes out of every power socket has associated low-frequency electromagnetic fields.〔(What are electromagnetic fields? ), World Health Organization〕 Various kinds of higher-frequency radiowaves are used to transmit information – whether via TV antennas, radio stations or mobile phone base stations.
By far the most common health hazard of radiation is sunburn, which causes over one million new skin cancers annually.〔
